Avisa is different from other Brussels consulting firms. |
| We know how to say no. | |||
We focus on certain clearly identified antitrust and environment issues in which we have real expertise. We refuse customers when not best placed to serve them, for instance when it is too late in the EU process to be effective. When we believe we cannot help, we refer would-be clients to consultancies with more relevant expertise. We do this on a routine basis with requests about trade, agricultural and food issues or regional policy. |
We pride ourselves on implementing the most demanding ethical rules, starting with strict conflict management. |
| We never shy away from telling a client that his or her objective is difficult to achieve, or that the method he or she has in mind is inappropriate. | |||
We insist on telling the truth, however unpleasant, as opposed to what the customer would like to hear. |
| Lawyers respect us for what we do and how we do it. | |||
| Our experience in high-profile antitrust cases has allowed us to build trusted relations with most important law firms in Brussels. | |||
Our consultants enjoy a wide variety of educational backgrounds and professional experiences. The team includes one or more senior consultants who previously worked as antitrust lawyer, assistant to a MEP, banker, CEO of a medium-sized company, editor, executive in a manufacturing industry, insurer, journalist, member of a Commissioner cabinet, NGO employee, security expert or Treasury official. A broad spectrum of nationalities work at Avisa. We have American, British, Danish, Dutch, French, German, Spanish and Swiss employees, plus two advisors from Lebanon and Russia and support staff from yet three more countries. This diversity is helpful in many ways. |
| Our team includes a high percentage of both senior consultants with each more than 15 years of professional experience and former European Commission or European Parliament officials. | |||
We have a strong public service “DNA”. All partners and several in-house consultants have each spent several years in the EU Institutions or at EFTA, with a mix of services and cabinets’ positions. Some of our consultants have worked in national administrations too. In most if not all situations, this enables us to anticipate the way the Commission, the European Parliament or the Council would react to a specific argument or a new development because we have experienced something similar “on the opposite side of the fence”. |
| For employees, Avisa also is different. | |||
(i) It aims to allow career development (ii) It pays above-average salaries and transparent financial incentives (iii) It provides premium working conditions (iv) It offers clear prospects of becoming a partner.
